You often start your morning with a hot cup of coffee or tea followed by a healthy breakfast ranging from oats, chia pudding to healthy sandwiches or cereals. But did you know these foods instantly spike up your sugar level and though you think you have had a heavy breakfast, you end up feeling hungry in a few hours and have another meal. This keeps going on throughout the day which makes losing weight more difficult. Consuming FAT first thing in the morning before you eat your breakfast will keep you full throughout the day and you will only eat as much required. It will bring down your hunger pangs and keep you energetic throughout the day. Consuming fat first in the morning is an excellent way to start your day especially if you are dealing with pcos or any other hormonal issues that spikes up your sugar level. Most of you think Ghee coffee is the only way to consume fat first, but here is a list of food that you can add to your list of consuming FAT FIRST.
MIXED NUTS - Nuts are a great source of nutrients, antioxidants and good fat. Consuming a handful of mixed trails of nuts will give you the required carbs, fat and protein in one go, hence keeping you full and less hungry throughout the day.
COCONUT CHUNKS - If you want to skip having ghee, butter or ghee coffee first thing in the morning you can switch to consuming 4 - 5 pieces of coconut chunks. Coconut chunks are rich in fibre and are a good source of natural fat. It speeds up weight loss and prevents heart risks.
ALMOND BUTTER- A nutty alternative for those who avoid having peanuts or other nuts. Almond butter is rich in monounsaturated fat thus, it keeps your cholesterol level in control. It is packed with antioxidants and is considered to be a good source of fat
COCONUT CREAM - Packed with vitamin A,E & B coconut cream is a great alternative for consuming fat first. It is rich in antioxidants which help prevent the risk of many health problems.
Consuming FAT first in the morning doesn't mean you have to completely eliminate carbs and fibre. You don't have to limit it but you can always watch the quantity or portion size you are consuming if you are sticking to a fat first routine in the morning. Choose the fat that you consume wisely so that you can make the most of its health benefits. Make sure whatever you choose is mostly organic. Alternatively you can also consume ghee, butter, coconut oil or milk in your FAT FIRST regimen.
