- When Anurag Kashyap was in seek of the perfect actor to play the role of Shahid Khan, it was Manoj Bajpai who recommended Jaideep Ahlawat to him.
- The original story is written by Zeishan Quadri who played the role of Definite in the film. The story was inspired by the real life rivalry between Surya Dev Singh (was the MLA from Jharia in Dhanbad) and Shafiq Khan. Even the character of Faizal Khan was inspired by the real life gangster Faheem Khan.
