The Most Valuable Player is awarded to the best-performing athlete at the end of each regular season!

In the long history of the NBA, the MVP award has been around since the very beginning. Every era has had its share of phenomenal players, and each of these MVPs has contributed something unique to the game of basketball. To earn the MVP, an athlete must perform exceptionally throughout the regular season, and even then, it's a very difficult feat. There have only been a few to win multiple times. Read till the end to find out who they are!

Michael Jordan

The undisputed greatest of basketball, Michael Jordan dominated the NBA from 1985 until the time he retired. In his fifteen seasons, he won six titles and six Finals MVPs, and he is the only player in the history of the NBA to never have lost a final. During his tenure, he made the Chicago Bulls into a certified dynasty and also brought millions of new fans to the NBA. Jordan won the regular-season MVP award an astounding five times. This is a testament to his talent and propensity for basketball excellence.

Kareem Abdul Jabar

Kareem Abdul Jabar is a name synonymous with greatness; he played for two teams in his twenty-season-long career. Namely the Bucks and the Lakers. Kareem has a record six regular-season MVPs, the highest in the league. In his storied professional career, he won six championships and also broke the scoring record held by Wilt Chamberlain. In addition to that, he also invented an unblockable shot called the sky hook.

LeBron James

LeBron James is dubbed by many basketball enthusiasts as the modern iteration of Michael Jordan. LeBron James entered the league right out of high school with a lot of expectations on his shoulders, and eventually, through his career, he delivered them all. That includes winning a championship singlehandedly for his home city of  Cleveland. James has won the regular-season MVP award four times, which is the third most after Michael Jordan and Jabbar.

Larry Bird

Larry Bird's calm demeanor off the court is exactly the polar opposite of his persona while playing. A legendary Celtics player, Bird, won three championships for the city. Bird has won the MVP award three times while competing with his rival Magic Johnson, who was also a legend in his own right.

Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry is the consummate athlete of his generation; he is the savior of his era. Standing at only 6 feet 3 inches tall, he dominated a game that is meant for giants.  In a career that is still active, he has won the championship four times. He was the only unanimous winner of the MVP award, and he won it twice in a row.
