Despite not being a professional, Lakhwinder's deep cricketing insights can rival any coach! In 2007, the family moved 300 km from Chak Khere Wala to Mohali for better facilities. Domestic cricket brilliance 

In 2014, Gill showcased his cricket prowess by scoring 351 runs in Punjab's inter-district U16 tournament. His talent continued to shine as he notched a double century in his U16 debut for Punjab in the Vijay Merchant Trophy. The budding cricketer made his List A debut in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy and ventured into first-class cricket during the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy against Bengal.

Gill's early success continued as he secured a half-century in his first Ranji Trophy match and followed it up with his maiden century against Services in the subsequent game.
