India's biggest victory against the Men in Maroon

88 runs is the biggest margin of victory that India has recorded against West Indies in T20 Internationals, which came at Lauderhill, Florida.

One-sided series

It was the last match of the long Indian tour of West Indies, which included 3 one-day internationals and 5 T20Is. The tour basically served as a platform to give game time to India's fringe players and give the regulars much-needed preparation in the lead-up to Australia's 2022 T20 world cup.

Having already taken an unassailable lead in the series, India batted first in the final T20 International and made 188 runs with Shreyas Iyer being the leading scorer with 64 off 40 deliveries while opening the batting.

In reply, West Indies were bowled out for only 100 as India recorded a win by 88 runs, their highest margin of victory by runs against West Indies in the history of T20Is.

Arshdeep was instrumental in India's win

Arshdeep Singh's role was instrumental in India winning the series. He finished as the second-highest wicket-taker for India behind Ravi Bishnoi and received the Player of the series award.

Arshdeep Singh | Player of the Series: Feels really good. As Rahul Dravid sir says, we are a process-based team. We are just looking to do the process properly, not thinking too much about the results, which is helping me in my bowling. It's about being adaptable as a bowler and a lot of credit goes to the team management for giving me clarity. The way the youngsters are being backed is nice, the feel of the dressing room is really good. Helps as a youngster to come in and do whatever you do in your IPL teams/State teams.

Set plan

There were calls to include Arshdeep in the three-match ODI series, which preceded the T20 Internationals, but the Indian management was always clear about how they wanted to use him.

As a result, they kept him on the bench throughout the one days and allowed him to play all the five matches of the T20 series in which he did exceedingly well, picking up 7 wickets from 5 matches at an average of 16.14 and bowled equally well at the top and the death as well. He perhaps did enough to seal his spot for the 2022 T20 World Cup.
