Highest total against Australia in Women's ODIs
Any team is yet to score 300 runs against Australia in the women's ODI World Cup.
298 versus England In the third match of the 2022 women's ODI World Cup between Australia and England at the Seddon Park in Hamilton, Australia batted first and smashed 310 runs for the loss of just 3 wickets.
Rachael Haynes was the star batter for them and made 130 runs with 14 boundaries at almost run a ball. Meg Lanning also contributed well with 86 off 110 deliveries.
Nat Sciver was good for England and took two wickets. She then came back to smash a quickfire ton. The all rounder was unbeaten, going at a strike rate of 128.24 with 13 boundaries but could not receive enough support to get England over the line.
Tammy Beaumont and Heather Knight also made 74 and 40 respectively but England lost the match by 12 runs.
Knight, the England captain, said this after the close defeat," For us as a batting unit that's a confidence booster. The Ashes wasn't a true representation of us. To see how aggressive we were, how well we ran, and what an innings from Sciver, almost deserved to be on the winning side. Not the end of the world for us. Lost the first game in 2017 as well. Led by Tammy, carried on by Nat with that fine innings. She's brilliant to have in your side, true allrounder, probably one of our best fielders too. Probably the best knock I've seen (Nat Sciver). Playing seven batters limits the options a little bit. But we felt like this is our best balance. Not worried about our bowling unit at all. They've been a strength for us."
288 versus New Zealand Interestingly, Australia have won both the matches when a team has scored big runs against them.
When New Zealand scored 288 for the loss of 6 wickets against Australia at the Rose Bowl in December 2012, Australia went on to win that match by 4 wickets, chasing down the target quite comfortably in the 47th over.
Amy Satterthwaite was the top run scorer for New Zealand in the game with 109 runs. For Australia, openers Meg Lanning and Rachael Haynes made 70 odd runs each. Sarah Coyte also made an unbeaten half century to close off the match.
