Few Tips to Leave a Good Impression on Your First Date (Part II)

The first time you meet someone for a date lays the foundation for the future of the relationship.

Whether you are going to meet someone whom you have never met before or if you already know the person and you’re taking it to the next step with a real first date, there are a few things you need to take care of. Continuing from the first part of the story, here are a few more tips that will leave a good impression during your first date.

1. Remember Your Table Manners

It may not seem very important but table manners play a very important role to leave a good impression if you are meeting him/her for the first time on a date.

It’s easy to be rude without realizing it while meeting someone. If you are meeting in a fine dining restaurant or even a coffee shop, it’s really important that you remember your table etiquette. Don’t eat like you are hungry for days and try to make it subtle while eating. Remember to put your napkin on your lap, keep your elbows off the table, don’t converse with your utensils in hand or with food in your mouth, and don’t pass the salt and pepper together. These things may look very formal but it shows a lot about your overall personality.

 2. Safety Comes First

If you are a girl who is going to meet someone you only met online or talked to on phone and it’s the first time you are going to meet him, it’s better to take care of your safety.

You never know what kind of person you are going to meet because chatting online and meeting someone in real life are two entirely different things. It’s very important to take care of your safety especially if you are a girl. Make sure that the place you are going to meet is not something very secluded. Opt for a place where there are other people around, and dress decently without wearing something very revealing. Be comfortable with yourself and the person you are meeting without going overboard. Also, it’s very important to tell someone you know where you’re going; the details of the other person like name, and phone number and this person should be able to get you out of an uncomfortable situation if required.

3. Think of the Best First Date Questions

The conversation is the key when you are going out on a date for the first time and it will be better to think about questions you are going to ask or the conversation you are going to have.

If you want to leave a good impression on your first date, then the conversation you are going to have is very important. Try to get answers to things you want to know without being bossy or dominating. Keep things subtle and don’t reveal much about yourself till you are sure about it. Also, remember that you should be a good listener if meeting someone for the first time as it leaves a very good impression instead of doing all the talking yourself. Be ready for awkward silences that may happen and try to get out of such situations with interesting conversations as it will make the other person comfortable.
