Not taking a shower daily? Experts recommend not following the habit

A shower a day keeps diseases and stress away

Well, not everyone likes to take a shower every day. Unless you are someone who works out every single day and loves to get into the shower to get rid of the sweat. Though it is fine to take a shower on alternate days, experts are of the opinion that it might be just fine but emphasize on making the daily shower a habit. Apart from a shower helping in waking the body up from sleep, it also helps in keeping the skin happy by removing the odor.

Helps in reducing muscle tension

While taking cold showers is good for the skin, it is also recommended to take warm water baths. The warm water is really effective in reducing tension on the overstretched muscles. The warm water bath helps heal sore muscles as it has a relaxing effect on them. It also improves flexibility or elasticity of muscles, especially when taken a shower after exercising.

Aids in improving blood circulation

Bathing aids in relaxing the sore muscles and releasing the tension, it is at the same time that the blood circulation starts to improve in the body. By just immersing yourself in a water tub the blood circulation increases to the limbs and helps in the nourishment of damaged cells. The increased blood circulation helps make the skin look better and also improves heart function.

Helps reduce depression

Yes, believe it or not, bathing helps in reducing depression. Experts recommend taking a cold water bath as the exposure to the cold water results in activation of the nervous system, increasing beta-endorphin and noradrenaline levels in the blood that are instrumental in reducing depression. In fact, a study in Japan has shown that stress level reduced significantly in people who took a bath after 60 minutes of a depression bout.

Removes toxins

Especially for someone who sweats a lot, taking a bath is necessary, and never skip a bath. During sweating the body gives our toxins and with the daily bath, the perspiration odor reduces. A warm water bath here not only drains out all the toxins but also kills bacteria and viruses. This also helps in bringing the infection level down.

Removes dead skin

The risk of having a body odor isn’t the only reason one should inculcate the habit of a daily shower. Infrequent showers bring with them poor hygiene that causes accumulation of dead skin cells, dirt, and sweat on the skin leading to acne, and bad bacteria causing conditions like psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema. So bathing removes dead skin cells rejuvenating the skin.

Furthermore, bathing induces a night of good sleep, helps us look beautiful without much effort and boosts the immune system.
