Rungrado First Of May Stadium

Located in North Korea, this is the world’s largest football stadium. The Rungrado First of May Stadium holds a capacity of containing 150,000 people. The stadium came into being in 1989, spreading over an area of 21 hectares. The stadium is now a host to the annual Arirang Games - the largest gymnastics display in the world. The unique aspect of the stadium is that it is built on an island that has only two roads leading off it. The roof of the stadium is in the shape of a parachute.

AT&T Stadium

Home to American football Dallas Cowboys, the stadium is located in Arlington, Texas. This is the largest domed stadium in the world with a retractable roof and in the middle is a high-definition television screen - which is the largest in the world. Besides these grand features, the stadium holds a capacity of 105,000.

Camp Nou

This is the home stadium of F.C. Barcelona. It is the largest football stadium in Europe with a capacity of 99,354. The stadium was built in 1957 the ground has hosted some major tournaments and games such as the Champions League finals, Summer Olympics, and European Nations' Cup among various others. Interestingly, Camp Nou is the only stadium in Europe without a roof over most sections.However, renovations to take place on the stadium will increase its seating capacity to over 10,500, making it the second-largest football stadium in the world.

FNB Stadium

The largest football stadium in Africa was originally built-in 1989, during South Africa’s Apartheid era. It has a capacity of 94,736 and it underwent renovation to be able to host games during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. It primarily hosts rugby union and football games. The stadium is also famous for hosting the last public appearance of Nelson Mandela.
