While all the F1 tracks have overtaking windows, there are a few tracks where overtake battles are witnessed more often
For any Formula One fan, overtake battles are better than the rest of the elements in the F1 universe. And given it is a brutal competition, the tracks are built with overtaking windows. However, not all tracks witness overtaking battles. For example, Monaco, being a narrow track, sees a very limited number of overtakes. On the other hand, certain tracks feature several overtaking opportunities.

In our book of thoughts, the Red Bull ring is an outstanding F1 track for overtaking. The course features three long straights, which are great windows for overtaking; especially for powerful cars from the stable of Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedes and McLaren. Not to forget, the track also features 90-degree corners, which means drivers often misjudge their braking points.
For many years, the Bahrain Grand Prix has served as the inaugural GP of several F1 seasons. F1 drivers love this track because it comprises four long straights which allow them to overtake rivals frequently. Throughout the race, the table keeps shuffling, which makes the Bahrain GP one of the finest GPs for overtaking.
Also known as the Sao Paulo Grand Prix and Brazilian Grand Prix, this circuit is distinguished for overtaking. In 2021, Lewis Hamilton started the race from the 20th position. By the end of the race, he overtook every other racer and grabbed the first-place podium. Apart from Hamilton’s heroic deeds, the track has witnessed legendary Senna performing epic overtakes.

The Francorchamps circuit is one of the leading tracks in the world, but it is also one of the deadliest tracks in Formula One. The Kemmel straight section and L Eau Rouge part of the course are known for fast-paced overtaking action. Not to forget, the curvy Pouhon and Blanchimont sections are also great overtaking windows.
Much may not agree with us, but in our opinion, Baku is another circuit with exceptional overtaking windows. For example, the Neftchilar Avenue straight, the twisties from turn three via Bulbul Avenue to turn seven before Castle Gate; drivers with good reaction time and experience are known for making surprise overtakes in those sections. However, we agree Baku is not a track for every racer.
