If there is one sport in India that is religion and the players are Gods that is the game of cricket. But not just in India, cricket is a famous sport in various countries. And there are cricket tournaments, One-day cricket, Test match, 20-20, and more that are played in stadiums across the globe. With the fan following as bigger as for football, the stadiums for cricket are also huge. So here are some of the biggest cricket stadiums in the world.

Lord’s in London, United Kingdom

The Lord's Cricket Ground is famously known as the 'home of cricket'. Built in 1814, the stadium is named after its founder, Thomas Lord, and is currently owned by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). It is also home to the world's oldest sporting museum. Over 100 Test matches have been played and numerous records have been won in this stadium. This ground has been a witness to some of the biggest histories and victories created in cricket.The museum has a stuffed sparrow that was struck while airborne by Jahangir Khan's powerful bowl during a match in 1936.

Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados

This 120-year-old stadium has been a witness to many national and international cricketing records. The sport of playing cricket at the Oval began in 1882 when the Pickwick Cricket Club assumed formal ownership of the ground. After its recent renovation, the stadium can now hold up to 28,000 spectators. The first international match was held in 1895 and the first Test match in 1930. The stadium also holds the statue of Sir Garfield Sobers.

Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, India

Popularly known as the HPCA Stadium, it is not only famous for its capacity but for the picturesque landscape surrounding the stadium. The stadium is located in Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, known internationally as the home of the Dalai Lama of Tibet. One of the most beautiful cricket grounds in the world, the stadium is just a decade old.
