It is good for the gut, body and good sleep.
We all are aware of the benefits of not skipping our meals but have we ever given a thought to the fact that how important it is to eat the last meal of the day, that is our dinner early? Well, traditionally and according to the new diet trends, calories are counted only in the amount of our food consumption and as to what exactly we consume. But if we were to go by the Ayurveda way of living, besides eating right eating on time is good for health.
By eating on time it is meant to have one’s dinner as early as at seven in the evening. By doing so the body stays very healthy and active. Many experts and studies have agreed on the various health benefits of eating dinner early.
Well, it is often advised to maintain a decent gap in between every meal and from dinner to bedtime. In fact, immediately after dinner, we are always asked to move around and not immediately sit or lie down as by doing so the food is not digested properly. This can result in stomach ache, acid reflux, bloating, and constipation.
According to experts, before one sleeps the food needs time to be digested properly, and eating dinner early keeps the acidic contents of the abdomen rising back up into your throat and allows your body to get the time to digest food properly.
While eating right aids largely in weight loss, eating on time is even better in making the body lose weight amicably. Eating early helps the body in utilizing the food better, digested easily, and helps in boosting the metabolism, which in turn converts food into energy and burning calories.
Always avoid large meals late at night. As late you eat in the night the hard it will be for the body to digest. And this indigestion causes interference with sleep. Most importantly, if you fall asleep immediately after eating late or binging on a delayed heavy dinner there are huge chances that you may not have a sound sleep as the body process the digestion while you are sleeping.
Understand that diabetes occurs when the body is not able to utilize insulin properly. But when you eat dinner on time, the body gets enough time before your sleep to convert the food into glucose, which in turn helps in reducing the risk of diabetes.
The timing of our meals can affect the body’s weight regulation, metabolic regulation, heart health, and sleep cycle too.
