Camphor

It’s one of the most easily available ingredients and can be quite effective in repelling mosquitos. All you need to do is light a small quantity in your room and leave the room for twenty minutes with all the doors and windows closed. When you come back, you get a lovely mosquito-free room!

Neem oil

It is a very effective antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal agent and a great indoor mosquito repellant. Neem oil extracted from the tree mixed in equal proportion with coconut oil can offer up to eight hours of protection against mosquito bites. Just rub evenly across the body and be at peace.

Tulsi

Also known as Holy Basil, it is a wonder plant according to Ayurveda. All you need to do is plant a Tulsi Shrub in your house, and the plant will stop the growth of mosquito larvae and discourage them from entering the house. No need to even apply anything on the skin!

Eucalyptus and Lemon

All you need is equal quantities of Eucalyptus oil and Lemon oil, mix well and apply on the skin. This effective natural repellant is endorsed by the Centers for Disease Control. The mixture has active component cineole which is an effective antiseptic and insect repellant. And it’s inexpensive and easy to source too.

Garlic

Along with its excellent health benefits, Garlic also provides excellent protection against mosquito bites. Crush few garlic pods and boil them in water. You need to spay the reduced concoction evenly across the room to see the magic. The strong and pungent smell deters the mosquitos from entering the room. An excellent way to get bite-free peaceful sleep!

Citronella

This essential oil is extracted from the citronella grass. Extremely effective in preventing mosquito bites and often killing them, you need to infuse this essential oil in a candle or add it in an electronic vaporizer to spread it across the room uniformly.

Mint

Easily available in the market, many households even grow this wonder herb. Many studies have found it to be a brilliant mosquito repellant. You can use mint oil in an infuser, rub it directly on the skin or plant a shrub in the house or room to prevent mosquito bites.
