Rabindranath Tagore: Motivational words spoken by the Nobel Laureate

Rabindranath Tagore, the name is enough to raise our heads in pride!

The field of art and literature in India has been reshaped completely by the touch of Rabindranath Tagore. His magical touch has modernized Bengali art with his poems, spinning novels, songs that made him the first Nobel Prize winner of literature from India. The 19th and 20th Indians have seen how his legacy still went on in fields of spirituality, politics. And here we are recalling some of his quotes that echo his legacy and which are highly inspirational when one understands the deeper meaning to it. Have a look!

“You can’t cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water”. (Maybe he wanted us to realize we need to work hard to achieve success)

“The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough”. (Reminds me of Rajesh Khanna saying, Babumoshai zindagi lambi nahi badi honi chahiye)

“It is very simple to be happy, but it is very difficult to be simple” (Thought of the day)

“Reach high, for stars lie hidden in you. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal”.

“Don’t limit your child to your own learning, for she was born another time” (Let them pursue their dreams, in short)

“The small wisdom is like the water in a glass, clear, transparent, pure. The great wisdom is like the water in the sea, dark, mysterious, impenetrable”

“By plucking her petals you do not gather the beauty of the flower”.

“We read the world wrong and say that it deceives us” (Well, we’ll be looking differently at world now)

“If I can’t make it through one door, I’ll go through another door, or I’ll make a door. Something terrific will come no matter how dark the present.”

“Everything comes to us that belongs to us if we create the capacity to receive it”.

“The highest education is that which does not merely give us information but makes our life in harmony with all existence”.

“If no one responds to your call, then go your own way alone” (Every Bengali probably knows the Bengali version of it)

“The world loved man when he smiled. The world became afraid of him when he laughed”

“To tyrannize for the country is to tyrannize over the country” (No more tyranny in the name of country, perhaps)

“We gain freedom when we have paid the full price for our right to live”.

Indeed, we all will now look at life a bit differently after having read the best of Rabindranath Tagore.
