Are you a lover of music? While new songs are constantly emerging, here are some earlier bands that we wish were still around, and can’t help going back to!
The Beatles- This legendary band, comprising Paul Mccartney, John Lennon, Ringo Star, and George Harrison was one of the best phenomena in the music industry. They were together for 10 years( 1960-70), but have produced a corpus of music that was enjoyed by their generation as well as the later ones. Popular songs such as Penny Lane, Let it Be, Strawberry Fields, Come Together, Here Comes the Sun, Eleanor Rigby, and We Can Work it Out amongst others are still popular today. Their voices together were magic!
One Direction –One Direction was one of the biggest bands in recent times. Composed of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, this band was invested in pop music. By 2020, 70 million records had been sold by this band. Their songs range from emotional to fun party-like songs, and for the longest time, were on everybody’s mind! Some of their more famous songs are Kiss You, What Makes You Beautiful, Night Changes, and One Thing. They had emerged from the X Factor in 2010 and in 2016 they announced an indefinite hiatus. While fans are still in love with them as individual artists, their presence in the music industry is missed!
Little Mix- Little Mix, operating from 2011-to 2021 recently marked their indefinite hiatus. Though breaking the hearts of fans in the process, Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, and Leigh Anne Pinnock have assured us of how they will always be sisters, through one of their final songs, Between Us, performed in 2021! Formed in 2011, in the X factor, these girls, along with former member, Jesy Nelson were like a breath of fresh air in the music industry. They have multiple successful albums and tracks which have been a hit including, DNA, Salute, Word Up, Touch, Move, Shoutout to My Ex, Power, and Woman Like Me amongst others. What is remarkable about this band is not only their lyrics and catchy tunes, but their attachment to one another, and also the wit that they bring into their songs. All the band members have now gone on to pursue their solo careers. While we are disheartened, we do wish them all the best!
