A megacity can be either a single metropolitan area or one centered on at least two separate urban regions. In addition to the previously stated, the phrases conurbation, city, & metroplex all relate to the metropolis. Read on to know them all.
Tokyo and Yokohama
Especially notable for consuming its surrounding cities of Yokohama, Kawasaki, & Chiba, Tokyo has become the world's second-largest metropolitan agglomeration. Available transportation in Tokyo is very efficient, accounting for over 80% of all trips.
Delhi
Delhi, the nation's capital, has just surpassed Mumbai in terms of population to become India's most populous city. However, the posture stands out from the crowd due to its stark contrasts. The ancient town is marked by mosques, bazaars, and narrow streets. On the other hand, the capital city of New Delhi is home to a plethora of beautiful boulevards, commercial districts, and retail districts.
Shanghai
Shanghai is now China's financial and commercial hub and the fourth-largest city in the world. It has a comprehensive transportation network of over a thousand lines and is one of the busiest ports in the world.
Dhaka
Dhaka, in central Bangladesh on the Buriganga River, is a multicultural metropolis with a rich history. It's the biggest city in the country, and it also happens to be the capital. The Greater Bangladesh Area had a population of 18.237 million in 2016.
Sao Paulo
The city of Sao Paulo is the largest municipality in Brazil and the largest in all of the Americas and South America. It is also among the world's ten largest urban regions. So Paulo holds the nation's biggest pride parade and is a cultural powerhouse in the arts, music, finance, and business fields. Sampa, also known as Cidade da Garoa, was home to 11.31 million people in 2011.
Mexico City
The capital of Mexico and the largest populated city in North America, Mexico City (Spanish: Ciudad de México) is one of the 32 states that make up 32 Federal Entities of Mexico. Culturally and economically, it ranks among the world's most significant hubs. Placed at an elevation of 2,240 meters, it can be found inside the Valley of Mexico, a vast valley on the high flat plains in the heart of Mexico (7,350 ft). Formerly known as boroughs, the city is divided into 16 alcaldes.
Cairo
Cairo is both Egypt's capital and its largest city. They are near the Nile Delta. Cairo, the capital of Egypt, has a rich history reaching back to 969 CE. Masr (the Egyptian Arabic spelling of Egypt) is a common name, as is al-Qahirah ("the Vanquisher"), Kayro, and Umm al-Dunya ("the mother of the world"). In 2016, the metropolis may have had as many as 12 million residents.
Mumbai
Mumbai (formerly Bombay) is India's most populated metropolis and the state's capital of Maharashtra. Located in one of the world's most populated urban areas, Mumbai ranks as the world's fourth-most populous city. The Urban Agglomeration of Mumbai has a population of 20,748,395 per the 2011 Indian census, while the city proper had a population of 12,478,447.
