Imagine getting to “beam” to places.
Among all the possibilities teased by science fiction, with all crazy theories, space travel and multiverse narratives, their inventions do strike some nodes. The possibility of such inventions is not in question here, but how cool would it be if the Transporter from Star Trek was actually true? Or the Time Machine from H. G Wells’ The Time Machine?
Here we have a list of sci-fi inventions we wished were true.
Cloaking Device
Sort of an Invisibility Cloak from Harry Potter, a Cloaking Device, as seen in Predators, cloaks you in the environment, practically making you invisible. Imagine this in real life – a perfect invention to go snooping around business that’s none of yours.
Transportation Beam
While walking is too mainstream and flying cars are too cliched, you have Star Trek’s Transportation Beam which can “beam” you anywhere in the universe. All you gotta say is “Beam me up, Scotty”.
TARDIS
Doctor Who’s TARDIS is the British-styled telephone booth that lets you teleport to anytime and space. This normal looking booth is a sci-fi marvel.
PASIV Dream Machine
Messing with dreams to plant an idea might sound dangerous (and it clearly is) but with PASIV Dream Machine from Inception, you can perform your own mind-altering version, or visit someone in their dreams. As long you keep it friendly, PASIV can be quite an interesting thing.
Cars but Transformers
If you’ve watched Transformers, the things more coveted than Fox and Lebouf’s chemistry were the everyday cars transforming into giant robots. What wouldn’t we do to have a yellow with black stripes Camaro in our garage?
HyperTime
If Clockstoppers were anything of a modern-day teenage drama, Hypertime was like its social media. Hypertime allows you to literally freeze time and people while you have the ability to move about. If it sounds slick, it’s because it really is.
Neuralyzer
A personal memory wiping device anyone? Yes, me too. Neuralyzer, as seen in Men In Black is this tiny device that blinks red light and wipes the memory whoever looks at it. Personally, I would NOT deny myself a Neuralyzer, should the day ever come.
Light saber
Yes, the art of sword fighting is medieval, but light sabers have to be the coolest sci-fi inventions ever. Star Wars birthed the wildest fantasies of all science nerds out there with light saber.
