After the tremendous success of Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story (2020), the franchise is ready to release its successor series—Scam 2003: The Telgi Story on September 1, 2023.
Much like its preceding series, Scam 1992—the sequel will follow one of the most infamous cases of financial fraud in India—revolving around Abdul Karim Telgi, the genius fraudster who earned thousands of crores through ‘counterfeit stamp scams.’ Scam 2003 has been adapted from "Reporter ki Diary" by the news reporter and journalist—Sanjay Singh.
Before you stream the series on September 1—here’s a peek into the stellar cast of Scam 2003.
When Riar auditioned for the role, the makers of the series found some facial resemblance between the actor and Telgi. For one year, Riar worked to gain weight—to achieve the most suitable look for the role he was about to play in Scam 2003.
The actor went from 78 to 96 kilograms in a year, and he followed an insane diet, which started with the consumption of five eggs after waking up and ended the day with four gulab jamuns.
Sana also featured in “Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi,”—the famous TV soap’s second season, and also played a role in “Krishnadasi.”
While talking about his character in Scam 2003, Jadhav revealed that his role is quite off-beat and different from whatever he has done before. He is playing a cunning and shrewd man who knows no limit and can go to any extent to get his job done. The actor further added that the character was challenging to play and is excited to see the response of the audience—seeing him in a new avatar.
