Job hunt can be soul crushing. It’s a tedious process and the rejection letters can really take a toll on your pace. Any kind of rejection letter can affect our confidence majorly. And if it is one of those positions where you have applied heartily putting in a lot of time and effort in the application, the rejection letter can really get to you. Here are a bunch of things you’d find in a typical HR rejection mail. Curious?

Position has been filled

It is really that simple. Just reading these four words throws all your expectations down the toilet. It just means that you were late in applying or your profile was not shortlisted by the concerned department. It’s generally an internal candidate who would have taken up the position. The job posting could have been just a formality and they had in fact an internal candidate in mind.

Your qualifications does not meet our requirement

Say you thought of changing the course of your career and starting afresh. Although you don’t have sufficient experience in it, you love doing the work. You hope and apply, thinking some of your previous skill could be transferred to this new endeavor, but then you are hit with a rejection letter. It says that your qualifications do not meet the criteria. But what it really means is that you need to revamp your CV. You might have missed out on the right keywords to use, which could have landed you the job.

We have found someone more suitable for the position

This one sticks. Simply put, it means however strong your profile is, there are stronger profiles applying for the same position as you are. It doesn’t just affect you with the current application; it reduces your confidence levels for the future job applications as well.
