‘House of the Dragon’: What is ‘The Dance of Dragons’?
The final episode of HOTD begins with a swerving character scanning a map of Westeros on Dragonstone.
The House of the Dragons finale was full of brutality, heartbreak, and theatrical tension, all culminating in the heart-wrenching buzzer of House of the Dragon Episode 10. Rival House Targaryen branches fought each other in the civil war known as "The Dance of the Dragons" in the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.
The battle over who should succeed their late father on the Iron Throne broke out between the children of Viserys I Targaryen: his eldest daughter Rhaenyra and his eldest son Aegon II.
HOTD episode 10 review
The final episode begins with a swerving character scanning a map of Westeros on Dragonstone. As per Viserys’ wishes, Lucerys placed his hand on Driftmark in the inheritance evaluation that should be coming his way. However, as is well known, the coronation of Aegon II sped up the demise of Viserys’ plans.Jacaerys and Lucerys are called before Rhaenys, who informs them of Aegon’s throne of expropriation. Jacaerys sets out to find Daemon, who has gone mad and informs them of Aegon's throne of expropriation. The blacks are more loving and, dare I say it, likable; they’re the softer side of the gray. In contrast to the Greens, whose deceit feels vengeful and villainous.
The Seven Kingdoms map is then made visible on top of the soft, amber glow of candlelight when the war table is set on fire.
Rhaenyra is curious about their position, including their navies, allied forces, foes, and all that lies between them. Corlys will soon sail to Dragonstone, according to Rhaenys, but their loyalty to the war is far from certain.
Rhaenyra sends Jacaerys and Lucerys on their dragons in order to gain the support of the Baratheon and Stark lords at Winterfell and Storm’s End before encircling King’s Landing. Anyone who has read the book knows that this is unsavory.
However, there is a feeling of anticipation in the room because Rhaenyra has made the first significant choice of her reign, which is entirely regarded as prudent.
Lucerys vs. Aemond
Lucerys sees Vhagar and Aemond as he approaches Storm’s End. He is rapidly sent along his way by Borros Baratheon with his "empty hands," but Aemond stops him. He mumbles, "A fight would be a little challenge," and then commands Lucerys to pay back his old debts with one of his own eyes.Vhagar’s face is engulfed in dragon flame as Lucerys reappears in response to Aemond’s cries for him. Vhagar then goes nuts. He flees above the thunderstorm in pursuit of Arrax after refusing to serve Aemond, biting down Lucerys and his dragon in half in a truly horrific spark of blood.
