While most popular video games will put you in the shoes of the infamous lawbreakers, some incredible gaming titles pay greater attention to law and order.
You will not find many games that exclusively focus on the law, but you will often come across video games featuring lawyers in some popular franchises. These law-abiding characters may not possess many powers, but they are very cool. Lawyers and courtroom scenes still feature in some video games out there. Check out the five best courtroom and law video games that are worth trying!
Astral Chain
Astral Chain is an action game that is more on the supernatural side of law enforcement. It is a lot like Bayonetta, in terms of the gameplay and like Persona 5, for the entity chained to one's wrist all the time. This game has some moments of investigation work that you can enjoy, along with the Switch exclusive that redefines the wow factor.
L.A. Noire
Technically, L.A. Noire is an open-world game with some action, and it is mostly about the adventures involved with investigation work. This game never got a sequel due to some troubles between the publisher Rockstar and Team Bondi, the developer. But this detective adventure game has still not been forgotten, and it got a remaster some years ago
Sleeping Dogs
Sleeping Dogs is a relatively underrated game of the Xbox 360 and PS3 generation. In this undercover cop game, players are entrusted with the task of infiltrating a Chinese syndicate. Just like Grand Theft Auto, Sleeping Dogs is also an open-world sandbox, but the shooting, driving, and melee combat are a lot better. Players take up the role of police officers and go after criminals to help establish a good reputation.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy
One cannot think of courtroom games without mentioning Phoenix Wright. This game should be thanked for popularizing this genre and for reviving adventure games as a whole. Several years later, Telltale entered this niche too, but Capcom set a precedent first for both consoles and handhelds. This trilogy has collected all three games and remastered them into H.D.
Judgement
This game features brawling actions, and it begins with Takayuki Yagami as a lawyer who later quits after the outcome of a bad court case. Fast-forwarding to several years later, Yagami is now a private detective. The best part about this game is that every single thing in the story ties back together, and the court-related and investigation gameplay sections are fantastic.
There is a game for every detective, courtroom, or law fan out there - you got to give some of these video games a try.
