The familiar snort on television that kids love and parents hate is with us for the last 16 years.
Peppa Pig is to children what Elvis Presley was to masses in his prime. Seriously, ask any parent with children in the age group one to six. Children love Peppa Pig, her signature snot, muddy puddle, and Happy Miss Chicken and everything in between. You have to find a kid, and they educate you about Peppa Pig like no one else. And parents, don’t deny it but might have watched all the Peppa Pig episodes alongside your children. But you all might not know some fascinating and fun facts about Peppa Pig.
It was created by friends with a lot of talent and no work.
Believe it or not, Peppa Pig was created by Mark Baker and Neville Astley in the year 2000. They were talented but unfortunately without money and any work. They turned to their producer friend Phil Davis, and together three of them borrowed money from their friends and family to create the iconic cartoon Peppa Pig.
It was hit instantly.
Seems like the trio’s gamble paid off, and Peppa Pig managed to grab the attention of the audience (especially young children) in its first year. So much so that it got its first BAFTA nomination and eventually a win. It also earned more than 1.5 million dollars just in merchandise sales.
Many of its earlier episodes have been re-edited.
Many of the earlier episodes, for example, the one where the family goes for a drive, had to be re-edited. It is because the Pig family was not wearing a seat belt in the said episode. It drew criticism from concerned parents. The makers then always focused on safety gears in every Peppa Pig episode.
Miss Rabbit does it all.
For parents (we are not judging you) who have loved and enjoyed Peppa Pig, you might have realized the hard work and sheer grit of Miss Rabbit. Miss Rabbit does it all. There is a running joke amongst the views that there is no job left in the city, which Miss Rabbit hasn’t done. She is a firefighter, nurse, supermarket cashier, bus driver, and whatnot. In Fact, in one of the episodes, she was awarded by the queen for her excellent contribution to the city and also, she had to declare a holiday as the city can’t function without her.
