Did you know these crazy facts about the 'Bahubali' film series?
'Bahubali' is a two-part epic fantasy action film, directed by the legendary filmmaker S S Rajamouli and starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamanna Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj etc in pivotal roles. Both the two parts ('Bahubali: The Beginning' in 2015 and 'Bahubali: The Conclusion' in 2017) received worldwide popularity and broke all the previous records on box office. Its larger than life content, fantasy storyline, epic battle scenes, romance and emotions attract people from all over the World.
Here are some interesting facts about the movie series.
- 'Bahubali' is the result of immense hard word, dedication and commitment from all the cast and crew members. Prabhas put all his efforts in this film; dedicated 5 years of his life and didn't sign any other project until the shooting was fully done. He even postponed his marriage in order to give full concentration in this movie.
- 'Bahubali 2' is the second highest grossing movie of all time in India. It broke all the previous records and its total domestic collection was ₹1,429.83 crore. In overseas market, it is the second highest grossing Indian movie after Aamir Khan starrer 'Dangal'.
- 'Bahubali 2' was the costliest film at that time. While the first part was made at a budget of 180 crore, the production budget of 'Bahubali 2' was 250 crore and the climax sequence alone was made at a budget of 30 crore. In fact, Prabhas’ gym equipment alone was worth of 1.5 crore rupees.
- For Rajamouli, it was really like a family work. The story was written by his father Vijayendra Prasad, the music was composed by his cousin MM Keeravani, his wife Rama Rajamouli managed the costume and his son worked as the second unit director.
- The 'Kiliki' language we hear in the first part, was created by Madhan Karky. This language has 40 grammar rules and 750 words.
- Remember the beautiful waterfall sequence in the first part? Rajamouli shot the whole sequence in 109 days, in three different locations.
- The visual effects we see in this movie franchise, were created by more than 17 VFX companies. More than 700 VFX artists worked for the film, some of them had previously worked in the Hollywood film 'Jurassic World'.
- The film was simultaneously shot in Telugu and Tamil, and was later dubbed in Hindi and Malayalam. Dharma Productions presented the Hindi version of it, where actor Sharad Kelkar became the voice of both Mahendra and Amarendra Bahubali.
- 'Bahubali' made a World record for creating the largest poster ever.
