Looking to travel in a campervan? Keep these tips in mind!
The campervan travelling craze has taken over the world. If you open up social media accounts, you are bound to stumble upon someone’s trip in these converted vehicles.
We aren’t denying the popularity of it, as it does make complete travel sense. A campervan comes with a mini kitchen, bed and dinner tables so travellers can enjoy comfort, luxury and adventure all at once.
So, if you are planning to take a trip in one of these vans, keep these tips in mind before planning your adventure.
Minimal packing
You need to remember that it is a campervan and not a storage facility. Therefore, carry only the essentials and do not overpack. Consider taking items that you need and ditch those “what if” clothes. You do not want to spend your time going through your things and wishing you left something at home.
Find the perfect camping spot
A campervan trip is made great because of the spontaneity attached to it. You will want to often just drive, stop and set up your camp anywhere. However, while spontaneity is good, you might also want to do some planning. Find a camping spot where you can easily access water and is on flat terrain.
Plan your meals
There is nothing worse than coming back from a tiring hiking trail and finding you do not have any food. To prevent sleeping on an empty belly, prep your meals before leaving. You do not need to plan exactly what you will have each day but have things waiting for you in the van so you can fill up your stomach. Take advantage of the cooler or mini-fridge and store food items. Also, always have food that is easy to make like vegetable skewers or loaded baked potatoes.
Keep that flashlight handy
Having a van does not change the fact that you are still out camping. Therefore, it is important to keep that flashlight nearby for any emergencies. Make sure the flashlight is charged or have spare batteries.
Don’t forget your bedding
Many campers tend to forget their bedsheets and pillows. Remember to bring clean bedding with you. Additionally, if you are spending your nights in the mountains or the chilly regions, bring a blanket to protect yourself from the cold.
With the above tips, you are guaranteed to have a memorable adventure trip.
